EA (Equestrian Australia) Program – over 12’s

Our EA Intro Program runs every Saturday morning of the state school terms for children aged 12 and over.

For children 12yrs and older, Wattle Creek offers children the chance to achieve various EA Intro Certificates. The EA Intro Program offers the required training and assessment for the Equestrian Australia Riding and Horse Management Certificates to the general public (you don’t need to own a horse to complete these certificates).

EA Intro Program Times

Summer – 7.00am to 11.00am
Winter – 7.30am to 11.30am

The training you receive at Wattle Creek prepares the horse rider for their assessment and certification with SSTA’s (Skill Specific Trainer and Assessor) whom asses the Introductory Certificates in Riding and Horse Management and Coach Educators who assess Level 1 and higher. We offer this training on a Saturday morning as per the above times.

The EA Intro Program horse riders mostly ride in squads of 2 to 4 riders for longer periods of time. One on one lessons also occur if the Coach feels the riders need more intense focus as the riders skill develop. Like our Hoofbeats program, rider logs are updated after each horse riding lesson to ensure each child has continuity to their lesson. These logs are also for Parents so that they can follow their child’s progress.

The EA Intro Program requires a single registration for each of the Introductory Certificates with Equestrian Australia.  We will walk you through this at the time of joining.

Want to know more about the EA Programs?

This program is designed for kids with no or little previous horse riding experience. The Introductory program provide a basis for riders to move on to higher levels. The program is also suitable for anyone wanting to learn more about horses and for those children that are seeking recognition of their current horse riding skills. The program covers the variety of skills and knowledge needed to perform equestrian riding up to and including Preliminary Level Dressage, including safety when riding in the open.

This program enhances the riders ability developed through the Introductory Riding Program by covering the skills, knowledge and concepts that will enable to the rider to ride/compete up to and including novice dressage, 90cm and above jumping and Eventing cross country courses with fences to 80cm.

This program covers the basic concepts of general horse management, essential to the provision of minimum standards of horse welfare and practice. It is designed for kids with no previous horse management experience and therefore is essential for any child starting out in horse care or for persons with little experience wanting to learn more.

This program further develops the basic concepts covered in the Introductory course with a focus towards the care of performance horses for sport activities (.i.e. Dressage, Eventing, Jumping etc).

Is your child under 12?

Each Saturday we offer a morning horse riding program for children from 6 to 12 years old.
