Riding a Dressage Test is a pathway we can offer to incorporate a structured goal for our private lessons. Wattle Creek is now introducing a Dressage Test Assessment for private riders as a way of measuring progress and providing clear objectives.
The dressage tests range from Preparatory level (with around 10 movements and no canter) through to more advanced levels as skills develop. During our Dressage Days, we typically offer four tests that reflect the current skill range of Wattle Creek riders, giving them the opportunity to experience a competition-style environment.
The ‘Goal Achievement’ pathway offers riders, in consultation with their coach, a selection of dressage tests that follows their skill level, as the riders skills increase so does the skill level of the test. These tests will be ridden on a pre-arranged date and formally judged, with a score out of 100% and a completed test sheet—just like a competition setting. This provides riders with a clear, personalised goal to work towards within their private lessons. The riders competing for their PB – Personal Best!
